Benefits of Physical Medicine

Physical Medicine

We consider this one of the most important services we offer. Chiropractic adjustments can help restore your bodies spinal alignment and eliminate nerve interference. Adding a therapeutic rehabilitation and exercise regime to your health program may speed your recovery by strengthening the Core Muscles (front, back and side muscles of your trunk), improving your biomechanics and supporting your bodies ability to stay in proper alignment.

Our goal is long term recovery not short term help. Physical Medicine with chiropractic helps to fix you and give you the tools to keep you healthy.

Rehabilitation is one of the most important differences between Desert Springs and other chiropractors. By strengthening your bodies core, your overall stability improves. That helps you perform better, whether you're sitting behind a desk, playing golf, or chasing your grandchildren around the yard.

The doctors at Desert Springs work with all levels of injuries including pre and post-operative patients. They are certified to work with extremity injuries such as rotator cuff tears, knee injuries, and carpal tunnel syndrome. They work with both the upper and lower extremity in addition to being excellent in neck and back rehabilitation.

Our doctors have a time tested protocol for postural correction to help restore feel and function to your full potential. Let us help you reach your health goals as soon as possible.

Graston Technique®

Soft tissue injuries (STI) are when trauma or overuse occurs to muscles, tendons or ligaments. Most soft tissue injuries occur during sports and exercise activities, but sometimes simple everyday activities can cause an injury. Tendinitis and bursitis are common soft-tissue overuse injuries. Soft tissue injuries can be debilitating and annoying. At Desert Springs Chiropractic, Dr. Casey Johnston, D.C., DC uses the the Graston Techique. He is the only GT certified provided in the Gilbert area.

The Graston Technique® (GT) therapy is successful in effectively treating all soft tissue conditions, whether they are chronic, acute or post-surgical. GT helps with acute and chronic injuries to fascia, tendons, muscle and scar tissue of all kinds. It is used by several NFL, NBA, NHL and Olympic athletes on a regular basis. There is a testimonial by Michael Phelps the US swimmer who holds the world record in the most Olympic medics with 18 Golds.

Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)

SFMA focuses on finding the root and cause of symptoms by breaking down dysfunctional patterns logically rather than simply finding the source of the pain. An isolated or regional approach to evaluation and treatment will not restore complete function.
